This year the class of 2002 went to Kentucky and Tennessee for their Senior class trip. First stop was the Wax Museum, though Jenny found it quite frightening. After the Museum they went to the Mammoth Cave, a personnal favorite for a few of them. The first night they camped and barbecued at Jellystone Park and had a fun night of playing games and being crazy. The second day started off by going to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where the Senior class learned about and saw the different models of the Corvette. That night they checked into their suites at the Comfort Inn where they would spend the last two nights of their trip. In the moring they started off by heading to the Ripley's Belive it or Not Aquarium in Gatlingburg, not too far from their hotel in Pigeon Forge. At the Aquarium they got to see many different and interesting types of fish, including sharks, stingrays, sawfish and many others. The thing they liked best about the aquarium was that they were able to pet Stingrays at "Stingray Bay". After the aquarium they walked to the Ripley's Beleive it or Not Museum, where they got to see many interesting and somewhat freakish things such as two-headed cows. They also got to roll a 5 ton rock and see many other things. When they had finished at the Museum they went go-carting and played laser tag at Laser Port, one of the largest laser tag arenas in the United States. After Laser tag it was time to go frshen up for the dinner show at the Dixie Stampede, which happened to be right across the street from the hotel. At the Dixie Stampede, the Seniors were served whole chickens for dinner along with corn on the cob, pork roast, bisquits, soup, and a apple turnover for desert. Though the food was good, the best part was the show. In the show, soldiers for the North and South competed in tests and games to see who would win the war. They raced horses and Ostriches and jumped through hoops of fire on horseback, all while the Seniors sat and ate. In the morning it was time to head home, but on the way they stopped at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church (WELS) for a nice service before heading home.
